Hi, I’m Mark Schwager.

I’m glad you’re here.

I’ve lived in East Greenwich for over 26 years, and I love our community.  My wife, Dr. Patricia Flanagan, and I have enjoyed the many wonderful qualities that make East Greenwich an exceptional place to live, work, and raise a family.  We educated our three children here, and my medical office was on South County Trail for many years. I am dedicated to our community and will work hard as a member of your Town Council. I look forward to working in local government  to keep East Greenwich one of the best places to live in Rhode Island.

Throughout the years, I’ve combined my love for East Greenwich with a  commitment to public service.  In addition to the Town Council, I have served on  the Planning Board, Municipal Land Trust, and as a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. During my tenure on the Town Council — and within other governmental organizations — I gained extensive knowledge and experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and operations.

As a town councilor, I am working hard to enhance our community.  I was involved in he renovation of the Swift Community Center, as well as the construction of the police station, Cole Middle School, Scalloptown Park, school athletic fields, and the development of Briggs-Boesch Farm.

Professionally, I’m a physician focusing on geriatrics and primary care.  My educational background includes Brown University ’78, the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine ‘83, and Temple University Hospital Internal Medicine Training ‘86.

I can’t wait to do more.

I’m a Member and Supporter of:

My Plan:

As a member of the Town Council, I’ll use my knowledge of our community and experience in local government to enhance the quality of life in East Greenwich. My platform pledges to create an open and effective local government accessible to all residents, as well as promote excellence in education and foster a strong sense of community.
